ABOUT
Sharon first delved into her Mum’s makeup bag aged seven, and over half a century later, she still loves putting it on (mainly other people).
She has been a makeup artist for thirty five years, working on editorials, advertising, shows and consultancies. Her career began in television and gradually moved to horror films, music videos and eventually fashion, collecting industry awards along the way, including the ‘British Make-Up Artist of the Year’ award in 2002.
She resides in London and frequently finds herself in Paris for work with the luxury house of CHANEL, where she has been a consultant in both educational & creative roles since 2005. She thrived in the catwalk show experience and her credits include Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Halston, Roland Mouret, Issey Miyake and Emmanuel Ungaro, to name a few.
Through her editorial work, Sharon has had the opportunity to team up with some of the world’s most renowned photographers including David Bailey, Nick Knight, Ellen von Unwerth, Venetia Scott, Mert & Marcus and Michelangelo di Battista. She has also worked with many celebrities including Kate Moss, Kate Hudson, Lily Allen, Bjork, Cheryl Cole, Suki Waterhouse and Thandiwe Newton.
Over the years, Sharon has worked with magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, i-D, The Face, Dazed and Numero, among others. Her client list features many big brand names and designers, such as The Body Shop, Bottega Veneta, Estee Lauder, Ghost, Guerlain, Nivea, Paco Rabanne and Valentino.
Sharon was responsible for creating the makeup for the celebrated Rimmel ‘London Look’ rebranding, featuring our favourite Londoner, Kate Moss, in 2001. The campaign went on to win many awards and establish the brand as a worldwide player. She then went on to become Maybelline NY’s UK make-up director for several years, before becoming a consultant for CHANEL, a position she still holds.
